Meet April Spinazzola

Some of my fondest memories growing up are of time spent cooking with my Italian mother and my Italian grandmothers. When I moved away, I really missed those flavors of home. There are a lot of sauces sold in stores. I tried many of them, but I couldn’t even find one that I found satisfying. Most are using second-rate tomatoes and then trying to “fix” the flavor by adding sugar, extra spices, chemicals, and preservatives. A whole lot of jars filled with disappointment. So I started making sauces from family recipes and sharing them with friends. Turns out I’m not the only one who cares about what’s in the sauce or how it tastes. People loved the sauces, and they kept asking me to make more. One thing led to another, and the Curvy Italian was born.
